About me

I am an artist and ecologist living in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I make wood-fired ceramic vessels, hand-dip beeswax candles, and practice land stewardship.

Informed by my background in ecology, my work reflects rhythms and patterns observed in wilderness. My practice centers on connection to place, presence, and repetition. In the studio, I reach toward a flow state, listening to my materials and transforming them with care. The physical result is an extension of earth.

I hand-turn my pots, accentuating pinch marks and finding my hands oriented in familiar ways: the way my grandmother taught me to crimp a pie crust, or braiding hair tenderly. Embodying care and exuding life. I make vessels for light, altars for reflection, and functional tablewares.

I hand-dip beeswax candles, each pair starting as a single cotton wick, dipped repeatedly in beeswax up to 30 times. My practice pays homage to folk tradition and pollination ecology, while also incorporating modern finishes using natural dyes, sculpting, and carving.

My process is inspired by absolute presence in nature- the oneness I feel from falling asleep outside. My head nestled in my elbow in a tall grassy field, cheek-down on a warm sunny rock, curled in a snowy respite under a tree. I hope my work can take you to that place.
